Yes. There will be bugs and dirt. We find that the bugs in the field are quite limited and not the kind that most people avoid. Keep in mind that most of the bugs that you do see are beneficial to the plants and are part of a bigger community and ecosystem.
If you are here in the early morning there might be a few mosquitos – feel free to put your mosquito repellent on in the parking lot.
Some bugs that you might see while picking include: butterflies, bees, flying beetles and lady bugs. You might also see a gopher or mouse – but they are usually pretty shy when people are around and we are working to lure them out of the field and deter their wanting to return – see the lavender and marigolds at the end of the rows.
